FLORIDA FRONTIER: Everglades Headwaters
The May sun sets over a palm-fringed wetland on the Lykes Ranch in Highlands County. In addition to hosting integrated cattle, forestry, farming and bioenergy operations, much of the expansive acreage remain in its natural state, providing habitat for numerous species of wildlife and helping clean water that flows toward the Everglades.
