The Telegraph Cypress Swamp on the Babcock Ranch in Charlotte County will remain natural as part the new 74,000 acre Babcock Ranch Preserve. The landmark conservation deal in July, 2006, was the largest state land acquisition in Florida history. Under the current management plan, cattle ranching is allowed to continue.
